Weekend nerveblock class for docs
Question:
Did I read this correctly? ""9:15am Am I Charging Enough? How To Design A Fee Schedule That Maximizes Your Income! Devona Slater, C.M.C.P."" I just wish I could sell this guy his next Mercedes. Lessons in negotiation are not cheap either.

Jim, This is the way CE courses are have always been promoted. A local affiliate TV news ran a program several years back "exposing" how to make a fortune on Medicare cataract procedures. You really can’t blame the docs for trying to maximize income. After all, the insurance companies find ways to collude and squeeze the docs. Meanwhile, the docs are legally prohibited from talking fees among each other under threat of FTC price fixing prosecution. You should sit in on one of these courses and hear the way they "dance around" talking about setting fees. Its almost as painful as Clinton defining what "IS" actually "is" Actually I wish I could sit in on the insurance company courses. What do you think they call the ones about: "screwing the patients out of benefits they rightfully deserve" "how to stonewall payments so our parent companies can finance new buildings on the check float" BTW, the current batch of MDs are financially irresponsible anyway. They all RENT (not buy) their Mercedes….its easier to keep up with the surgeons that way. Barry, the upside to that is when they lease those Luxo-Sleds they can never figure out that they are paying even MORE than if they just purchased it. Ever notice the way the salespeople are all "High-Fiving" when the cardiologist drives off in his new Benz? When he gets home and his wife reads the contract he is the one who will need the bypass! Actually, I think it is a potential tax break as the doctor can write the car off as a business expense. Since the doctor is often in their own *private* business, can’t the car be written off and depreciated? Any CPAs on this pain board who can explain this to folks like me? LOL….now this is turning into a tax forum in addition to pain! LOL – Jon (:o)-}-< – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->Yikes! >Jim >Mas rapido! >http://members.aol.com/Motomij/yourhere.html

Jon, It can. So when the "Option Plan" is explained it is an additional selling point.
