This article was in the UK paper "The Daily Telegraph" VIRGIN Atlantic has raised the stakes in the business class wars, Roger Collis writes, with plans to introduce private cabins with double-beds and showers, access to exercise areas, a pub/lounge and perhaps even a restaurant on its flights to the American West Coast and the Far East. Part of the cargo hold will be turned into sleeping compartments for upper class passengers when Virgin takes delivery of the new Airbus A340-600 – a stretched version of the A340 now flying. Seating up to 375 people the 600 is capable of flying non-stop from Europe to Australia, involving flights of more than 16 hours.
