Recommended coach seats on a BA 757-200

Question:

> 3.  www.itn.net shows 24 rows of business class seats on this flight.  Can > this be right?

Yes and no.  On most intra-European flights the only difference seat wise between business and economy is that the business seats are in the front of the aircraft.  Pitch and seat size are the same in business as in economy.  On some airlines you may get a little bit better meal, but that’s about it. The one exception on BA is that if you are on a wide body that is used both for domestic and international you will find FC and BC seats that are different than economy.  When BA first started flying the 777 most of the initial flights were from LHR-CDG and return.  I flew both directions on a 777 that had 3 classes. Hi all. I’ll be travelling LHR-HAM-LHR this week, on BA using a discounted coach ticket.  The plane is a BA 757-200, flights are 970 and 965.  Three questions arise: 1.  As a oneworld emerald (CP – Canadian) can I get my seats pre-assigned? 2.  What would be some "good" coach seats?  I’m primarily interested in legroom, but 2 wide vs 3 wide, view of video monitors, bulkheads, etc, may factor in. 3.  www.itn.net shows 24 rows of business class seats on this flight.  Can this be right? Thanks for your time. Regards, Ken Hamer

In terms of legroom in coach, you can’t beat the exit row seats (if available– I don’t know which version of the 757-200 BA operates).  Those seats almost eliminate the "sardine can" feel, and can change your impression of the entire flight. Dewen Tarn

–The BA timetable shows a maximum of 22 rows of Club class and minimum 9 rows Euro traveller (economy), the actual numbers of each varies according to demand, check the BA website for seating plans. Oh, and I wouldn’t worry about looking for a video monitor!   –==++AJC++==–

No, only if you fly in business class. >2.  What would be some "good" coach seats?  I’m primarily interested in >legroom, but 2 wide vs 3 wide, view of video monitors, bulkheads, etc, may >factor in.

BA European flights have 2+3 in Business and 3+3 in economy on 757’s. The size of the business section is configurable, i.e. they do some fancy fulling and shoving to make 3+3 into 2+3. Now the best seats to get for leg room are the unexpanded business class seats (you may even get a leg rest), i.e. in the first two cabins of a 757. The last cabin is set up with a tight economy only section. Show give the airline a call and make a request for seats as far forward as possible. You’ll then have a good chance of getting better seats. >3.  www.itn.net shows 24 rows of business class seats on this flight.  Can >this be right?
