Rates to Carribean

Question:

We are currently planning our honeymoon trip to the Carribean.  All of our plans are made except for the air reservations.  We are looking for roundtrip tickets from Austin to St. Thomas in early July. I’ve asked several travel agents when the "best" time to purchase tickets are.  Is it "too early" to book tickets (most current airline discounts seem to currently be through May or June)?  Is it risky waiting because flights may fill up?  The travel agents have been pretty useless, giving me all "maybes" for answers. Any suggestions on when/who to book for tickets?  (American seems to have the widest selection of flights of those that I’ve checked …) — rob butera – grad student rice university houston, tx usa http://riceinfo.rice.edu/~rbutera

A couple of points to remember 1) it’s never "too early" to book a flight. You can alsways rebook at a    lower rate. Book a fully refundable ticket and when you see a sale    rebook it at the lower rate. You don’t have to pay for the ticket    until you book a fare that has a prepay requirement. Find an agent    who is willing to do this for you and give them all your business    (room, car, air, etc). 2) your airfare will not be your major expense – your meals and room    will be.    /dan
