COMPANY: Tegic POSITION: PR Specialist Responsibilities: Perform day-to-day media relations: Coordinate response to media inquiries. Assess schedule and monitor press interviews between trade, business and general interest and broadcast press. Manage follow-through on media requests. Proactively develop and pitch story ideas to target media. Serve as a spokesperson. Create PR and marketing materials. Write, edit and coordinate the distribution of press releases, fact sheets, product backgrounders, press kits and ongoing periodic communications. Offer strategic communications council: Plan and implement communications programs tied to Tegic Communications marketing goals; research and develop strategies and tactics and messages designed to build awareness and generate revenue. Plan and implement press events: Develop, execute and attend press conferences, press and analysts briefings and tours. Monitor industry trends/market intelligence: Conduct periodic reviews of current publications; identify and report on pertinent trends in coverage; notify key executives and marketing staff of pertinent trends or important developments in the wireless, telecommunications and general business markets. Help develop and manage a PR library of publications and resources. Facilitate internal and external communications: Develop and disseminate periodic communications updates to Tegic Communications personnel; coordinate joint PR efforts between Tegic Communications and strategic partners. Represent Tegic Communications objectives with appropriate industry associations. Work with CTIA, PCIA and others on communications-related issues. Qualifications: 3 to 5 years of public relations or journalism experience in telecommunications, computers or a related field. Undergraduate degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or some related field. Excellent PR writing skills. (Must have knowledge of and experience working with members of the print, broadcast and on-line media.) Excellent interpersonal communications skills. (Must be able to interface with multiple contact points inside and outside the company.) Strong organizational skills. (Must be able to plan and execute more than one project simultaneously.)
