Radisson Mariner is doing Alaska this summer. http://www.rssc http://www.Crews-Inn.com

I’ve seen them at dockside here in Juneau, and they really are deluxe. I’ve talked to some of the chefs that work on yachts for several yacht services, and they serve some very nice meals — many of the clients like the ability to fish right off the boat and have fresh salmon or halibut for dinner. They also like stopping and having picnics or kayak rides in isolated bays and coves, and seeing wildlife close up. They are definitely pricey, though.
Response:
I would either book him on Raddisson or Crystal. Request a private table for his family. I think he wants complete pampering and these are both 5 stars. Diane Giambalvo Travel Consultant GalaxSea Cruises And Tours East Brunswick, NJ

In the world of people who make/have lots of money Personal assistants do all sorts of thing from buying a birthday gift for the wife/husband to walking the dog or getting dry cleaning! Some well known people have a hard time going out in public so they have someone else do it. Others work 70-80 hour weeks making money for themselves or their company and any task someone else does saves them that much time. That is why when my boss calls me it is his secretary that calls then says hang on Dave needs to talk to you! Wayne

Response:
Shazinz dear We are having some fun at your expense. An administrative assistant, personal aide or whatever is very common in business and having you make his cruise plans is not unusual nor is it demeaning to you. It is part of your job. It does come across though that your boss may be a bit of a pill. So he is "known," I have been on many cruises where there were "known" people and they seemed to just blend in and enjoy themselves. Occasionally there is one who wants to make sure that everyone knows that he is "known." Those are the bores that are quickly identified and ignored. Tell him to lighten up. There will be other "known" people on board, some who could probably buy and sell him twice before breakfast and never miss it. A trip to the magnificent scenery of Alaska will teach him insignificant man really is. Salli
Response:
<<He trusts thatI will send him on a beautiful vacation, for every time he plans one himself,it doens’t work out so well.>> Why can’t his WIFE make the arrangements, out of curiosity? The day I let some other woman make MY vacation plans, is the day I decide never to go anywhere again.
Seriously, he IS married, I gather? I knew you mentioned a couple kids…I forgot what his marriage status was. Heck, if I didn’t make the travel arrangements in my family, we’d all be sitting on the couch watching tv….ALL YEAR LONG, if I left it up to my husband!

I would also say Crystal would be the only good 5 star option. RCL and Princess would never do. :)

Another deluxe option would be the Raddison Seven Seas Mariner which will spent its first summer in Alaska this year. Some very experienced travel pros are saying this is the nicest ship they’ve ever seen or sailed on. choice of 4 different restaurants, all verandah suite ship. Very posh. Carole

Get a new boss. Failing that, book him on Crystal. Get him a suite with a butler so he can have all his meals in the room and not be contaminated by contact with the peasantry. I don’t know what you can do about the rest of the shipboard activities. I think he will just have to grin and bear it. Salli
