Meeting with Urologist regarding IVP
Question:
Connie, Isn’t it nice when you go to a new doctor and you like him/her right away? I’m so glad to hear he’s doing something right away instead of waiting. You want to keep as much kidney function for as long as possible. I want to know (along with everyone else) what he gave you for pain. LOL. Sounds good. ~~~~Pat CD Class of 98

Connie, I also pray that everything goes well with the procedure. In the future, this info may be helpful. That is, to cleanse the kidneys, liver, blood, lymph and other organs at least once a year to prevent these stone buiild ups. The best supplement I know to do that is Essiac. Essiac can even dissolve stones, but if you have one blocking your ureter sounds like it should be surgically removed. I wish there was more I could do to ease the physical pain, but for now, I’ll pray for you and that everything work out well. Thoughts and prayers, Lisa G.

Hi all, Well, I met with the Urologist. Great guy. Most of his business is kidney transplants, so I was a minor issue I suppose. He showed me where the stone is. It is not at the top near the kidney, but at the bottom where the ureter enters the bladder. It has completely blocked that area. He believes that he can go in with a balloon type of tool, expand the ureter, get the stone into the bladder and hopefully remove it from there. If it is too large to get out of the bladder he believes he can break it up in order to accomplish that. Worse case scenario, open me up and get it. He doesn’t think that is very likely. He also believes that this is connected to my Crohn’s due to it’s inflammatory nature (the Crohn’s) and the type of stone it is. I felt much better after seeing him. He also feels that my kidney has not lost its function. Also gave me something for the pain that actually works. Does make me goofy though. I should hear today or tomorrow about when I go in. Waiting for Insurance Company (what else is new). He plans to do the procedure early next week. Looking good so far. Will let you know what transpires. Connie
