Carnival Owner's Suites- Urban Myth?!?!

Question:

They exist, I visited the owner of my franchise there with several other agency owners. As far as I know you need to know someone to get them as they are not sold as a regular part of the ship. On RCL they do advertise and sell the big suites (complete withy grand piano) so that might be an option. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text –

Response:

If I recall correctly, they did not put them in the last two Fantasy class ships. (Elation and Paradise) They used the area to expand "childresn world" or whatever it is called. Matt

– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Yes, they do exist (I’ve even been in one, but never as a guest).  I believe > there are two per ship (I think they are only available on the Fantasy class > ships).  I don’t think they are readily available to just anyone to book on any > given sailing; I’m not quite sure what the criteria are, but perhaps if you > have your TA look into it, you may qualify!!!LOL > Jo-Ann

Does anyone know anything about the fabled Owner’s Suites on Carnival ships?  I’ve heard stories of people who have been in them, and when my wife and I took our first Carnival Cruise, the porter showing us to our suite mentioned them.  When I commented that I thought they weren’t available to the public, he said they were, they were just very expensive. My wife and I are once again looking to cruise, but we’re faced with a dilemna-  we want something nicer than Carnival’s Cat 12 suites, but don’t want a ship any stuffier than Carnival.  To put it bluntly, we like to party, although we like to do it in style.  My last stay in a Carnival Suite I had neighbors knocking on my door because 6 of us were quietly talking in the room, with no music, at 11:30 or midnight.  We adjourned to a bar, but the point is that I thought we were extremely well-behaved, but they thought we were out of line.  And that was Carnival.  So the last thing I want is a ship with an "older" or "more conservative" clientelle.  I want the bars to be hopping until dawn. But at the same time, I’m looking for something more upscale than what Carnival offers.  Money is a consideration, but I’d have no problem paying a few grand per person, maybe more, if the accomodations were worth it and the atmosphere were right. So the idea of these Carnival "Owner’s Suites" piqued my curiosity.  It sounds better than getting a Penthouse Suite on Celebrity, if it’s available. So does anyone know anything? Thanks in advance.

Thanks to both of you for the reply.  Based on Karen’s post, can I assume these are NOT available to the general public at any price?  IF so, that’s a drag. Can anyone think of any other solution to my dilema of wanting a bit more luxury than Carnival offers in its cat 12, but still wanting a real "party ship"? – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text ->Does anyone know anything about the fabled Owner’s Suites on Carnival >ships? > Yes, they do exist.  They are there for the use of the Arison family > and their friends and business associates.  In fact, most of the > Carnival family of cruise ships nowadays have suites decorated to the > specifications of family members and acquaintences.  A certain "Mr R." > actually had a say in the placement and design of a suite he expects > to use often (or others in his circle will use) on the new Cunard > ship.  The plans had to be revamped to suit his needs. > Karen >           http://www.cupcaked.com >   (and leave off the "potatoes" to e-mail)

George Leppla (Countryside Travel) had Sensation’s owner’s suite on the GGC2002, and many of us got the opportunity to see it.   I put a few photos of the suite on the web: http://www.ninaco.com/Sensation/photos/ship/owner_suite.htm Although I’ve never tried (unfortunately it’s always the 1A’s for me!),  I understand that you can’t book the owner’s suite on Carnival.   I assume George got it because he was the GGC’s TA and he’d booked passengers on so many other Carnival cruises.

You might try the Norway’s owner suites. — Mason Barge "People who like this sort of thing will find this the sort of thing they like."         — Abraham Lincoln
