Question:
so here’s a question for you all… i was getting that itchy-for-a-piercing-feeling-sorry-for-my-migrated-nipple-pierce feeling all day yesterday, but my piercer is about 45 minutes away and i was lazy, and happened to see shop in town the other day. i just recently moved up to this area, and figured i should at least go check it out, since it is just down the street. the man came with me, since he cant hear the word pierce without getting something new. he got a rook, me a simple cart (wasnt sure i wanted a random piercer doing anything heavier on me) as we chatted, the SO mentioned his desire to get into the business and she said that she had just fired a piercer, asked him if he had any anatomy & physiology classes (he has a bio degree-was pre-med) and she pretty much said come in on saturday and we’ll make plans. he has much experience being pierced (the rook made #29) but has only done self ear pierces, pierced a couple of friends lobes, and one navel, nothing professionally. he’s really excited because it’s something he’s been wanting to do for a long time …and i know the only way to get into the business is to really just get into the business BUT …think it’s a good idea for him to get involved here? does it sound reputable? what do you think? xoxo mo’ ******* Maura K Phipps http://members.aol.com/mop418/main.htm Yesterday you were normal. So, who is the piercer?, to check out if reputable do the same thing you would do to check them out if you were getting something"heavy" done. how do you get to carnegie hall? Practice -practice-practice How do you check out someone/thing?/ Research/research/research Good luck to SO Ray Tattoo= stained glass on my soul Contact me for your shop insurance needs
Response:
perhaps i could have been more clear about what i meant by "reputable." of course i know how to research a shop i.e. sterility, workmanship, but am unaware of the process of **hiring apprentices/piercers.** since there are many professionals here who have proven themselves knowledgable, i figured they would be able to answer whether it’s standard practice to offer random first time clients employment opportunities. xoxo mo’ ******* Maura K Phipps http://members.aol.com/mop418/main.htm

Well, speaking off. To be completely off subject, my school chorus is going to be singing at carneie hall, and we suck, so it doesn’t always have to be ~*~Gin Bear~*~ ICQ-12397199 Aim-Sinsgrrl mIRC-SinsterG

What I think is that it is POSSIBLE that the piercer just got really good vibes from whassisface (I thought I was fixing you up on Saturday, tho!!) and that combined nicely with "right place right time." it’s to remind everyone — last call for rides to mass munch!!!!!I think I’m gonna leave CT around 11:00 a.m., perhaps a little earlier. So far I have one passenger, plus one I’m picking up in the Boston area. Email me no later than tonight at the BME account for a ride. Uhm, Maura & I haven’t really finalized… sorry, I’m still high from seeing RAB’s own precious demon, Darby, in Dante’s Inferno, last night. Anyway, I’m thinking, hang out downtown, just grab food near the mall? (There are fried dough, etc., carts on Essex Street, right?) if you wanna meet up but not sure when, EMail me or Maura, and we’ll give you our pager #s. When you get to the area, you can page us & we’ll tell you exactly where we’re standing.
