Answer a question for me?
Question:
We’re conducting an informal poll concerning entrepreneurs and small business. Would you mind answering one question? In your experience, either as a professional assisting entrepreneurs and small businesses, or as an entrepreneur. What is the greatest hurdle entrepreneurs face in obtaining capital for their business? Please also tell us whether you are an entrepreneur or business or if you are a professional assisting small businesses. The results will be published on our web site and in several business oriented publications. I write business plans for companies looking for capital, and have found the biggest hurdle is deciding on a "target market" capital and actually targeting it. Few companies know about all of the different sources, how they work, and the pros/cons of each. As a result, they waste time (and possibly money) going after every potential source rather than the right ones. Raman brings up an important point. I offer site evaluations on my site geared for internet marketing. Through these reviews, I found that 80% of them did not know their target audience. It is too easy to see why every single person on this planet needs or wants a product or service. But it is difficult to create a marketing campaign that is geared to that broad of an audience and be successful at the same time. I finally created a simple form, Target Audience Focus, that asks some of the questions business owners should be asking themselves before selling a product or service. With ‘Niche Marketing’ becoming the buzz word of the net, I am hoping more people will understand how important it is to know who their selling to. That’s my two cents worth. *smile* Elizabeth M.
