From http://home3.americanexpress.com/rewards/explore/details_transfer.asp… How do I transfer my points? Item 2 says "You cannot reverse a points transfer"

Response:

CO is not going anywhere, don’t believe all the media hype, they are just helping to pressure congress in to giving money to the Airlines.  I doubt that CO will be going out of business….Relax. We were going to use 2 FF tickets on Continental but cancelled our trip plans to DC. We WILL be flying in the future and maybe I am ahead of myself – but will AMEX take back the mileage  maybe with a fee? If Continental gets into really BAD, bad  trouble we wouldn’t like to lose the mileage. Could always withdraw again from AMEX, for future travel on CO or another airline. (CO had said they would just hold the mileage when we cancelled.) Taking a wait and see attitude for now. We don’t fly all that much and don’t rack up a lot of FF mileage from trips. Many thanks.
