Unfortunately, unsolicited and untargeted bulk E-mail is a poor method of advertising, which companies new or uneducated about Internet ethics or business practice often fall into. This practice results in service shutdowns, a degradation of quality regarding the Internet as a whole, and often will get the advertiser blacklisted and ignored by legitimate business people. As with any market, it pays to learn about the culture you are marketing to prior to jumping in. This is true with the Internet, perhaps more than any other, simply because by it’s nature, a complaint can spread to thousands of people, in an instant. Look before you leap.
