Stockholm daytrip suggestions?

I see that other people have provided good tips for what to do in Stockholm. Myself I’m just wondering if you really want to go such a far distance just for a daytrip? There are plenty to see in Denmark, as well as some places in southern Sweden. Especially the children will probably be restless and bored when stuck on a train for several hours. It’s your choice, though, of course. Bjorn Before you buy.
