Response:
Dear friends, I read the postings here regularly and am amazed at the number of people who try to remove themselves from the selling process of a product or service. I see people trying to sell on the web, people seeking others to sell for their companies, people who want to be in business for themselves but have failed to understand that selling (not marketing) is the key skill. As a 20+ year marketing professional (Coca-Cola, Nestle) I can tell you that when I decided to learn how to sell, my consulting business took off. Before that time, I bumped along the road… There is nothing bad about selling. It is simply a skill that one must learn how to do. You do not have to wear white shoes and a white belt, or stand in a used car lot to be in sales.:-) I suggest that if your business is not doing well, you take a long look in the mirror and ask yourself if you REALLY want to be in business for yourself. If you want a paycheck, get a job. If you want to be in business, learn how to sell. If you have your own company, you better learn how to sell, or you will starve. Trust me, I have skipped a few meals! I will tell youi how to learn how to pick up sales skills if you email me. Kenneth W.
