Looking for computer science job in N.Z.
Question:
Working and living in a foreign country, an utopia or a dream come true? I’m looking for a job in computer science in New Zealand for one year. I am a 24-year-old computer science and economics student at the University of Zuerich, Switzerland; from where I will graduate this fall. In order to broaden my horizons I would love to work and live in New Zealand for 1 year (extensible to 18 months). I have read and heard a lot about New Zealand’s great nature and the hospitality of its people. Having learned the lesson that one learns much more about a country and its people by working there instead of visiting the sights as a tourist, I would like to work in your marvelous country. Therefore, I’m looking for companies who could offer me a job starting January 1993. If you have a job offer or if you know of a company that might have one, please contact me by e-mail, fax or regular mail. There is an agreement between New Zealand and Switzerland which allows young Swiss professionals to work and live in New Zealand for one year (up to 18 months). So I will be able to get an appropriate visa myself, without you having to worry about paperwork. My native tongue is German, but I also speak English (5 yrs at high school; most textbooks used at our university written in English; three months working experience as a camp counselor in the USA) and French. During my studies I have worked part time at a management consulting company where I gained practical experience with DOS/Windows and Apple Macintosh. I also completed a three-month industrial internship in a major Swiss insurance company writing programs in C/C++ under UNIX. I have no special preference as far as the field of my work would be con- cerned, but my studies are clearly oriented towards software and business applications. Thanks a lot for your help!
