I am looking for a way to track commissions to our sales people. Currently we pay on a 50% at time of contract signed and 50% when the money comes to the dealership…Does anyone know of anything that can help me track this…Thanks, Josh Hinds — On-Line Consulting & Computer Training — Tuscaloosa, AL Convenient & Expedient Online Consulting & Computer Training Answering Your IT Needs for an Impactful Web Presence For Marketing Tips and Business Leads, Visit: <http://www.onlineconsulting.com> Telephone: (205) 345-4130…Live chat, ICQ #: 2940261 "Charter & Posting Guidelines" and "The FAQ" Available at these fine places: your news server, www.dejanews.com , www.dakine.demon.nl/mbmm/ PLEASE, reduce quoted text to essential when replying. I’m not too sure why you would have such a hard time tracking this. If you pay 50% of the commission rate at signing, I guess I would ask what is the commission rate? Is it based on the amount of the contract? If you know the amount of the contract and how much of that goes to the sales rep, then you should know how much to pay them. If they are paid based on billable hours then you should pay them 50% of the hours "proposed" on the contract. I guess I don’t see the problem, unless I’m missing some information. — Sincerely, Steven M. Hello Josh, Your question is quite vague. I can think of many ways to track what is due. You can implement tracking in one of the leading accounting programs. For example, enter the liability once it is incurred by using job codes. Or simply list the obligation in any of the leading database programs. I have a preference for FileMaker Pro but any database program will do. I think you need to be more specific for a better solution. J.P. Solyom KS Business Development.
