This is the age group that frequents today’s movies, however, targeting would be beneficial as this group as defined is extremely broad. Bring it down to the taste level and target types and movies and therefore theatres which show these movies. For example: character studies without action yield more intellgent audiences. Then, I recommend a focus group of people who have seen a particular type or types of movies to determine your own psychographic profile. I hope this helps. Does anyone have any knowledge of demographic info on today’s movie patrons?  My organization is considering doing some movie theatre advertising. Compared to newspapers, the price looks good … and their attendance numbers look good. But who are these folks?  I’d like to target the 25 – 65 market … and I’m not sure that this is the age group that frequents today’s movies. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Donna St.Clair

Donna, Does the theater advertising allow you to select which movies your ad with  run with?  The movie you advertise with will have a lot to do with who the audience is.  A violent action movie will attract a different demographic than a romantic comedy. I would be interested in knowing if the movie industry has done any research in this area. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – > Does anyone have any knowledge of demographic info on today’s movie > patrons?  My organization is considering doing some movie theatre > advertising.
