Banner Ad Broker?
Question:
Heather, Try http://www.doubleclick.com/. Regards. Un saludo, Regards, l. AChe
Response:
Hello all. I have a client who is interested in placing banner ads through a "banner broker," who would research sites and pricing for their company. The trick here is that the client would like to use a company that provides the research for free to the client, and then receives a cut from the site that sells the banner space. I don’t even know if a service like this exists. (Maybe a good idea for a startup?) If anyone out there has heard of this and/or knows of a company that is reputable, please reply. Thanks! Heather K. Heather: This is alternately a good and bad idea.. On the client side–there may be an opportunity to have the research side done without cost (at a cosiderable savings, since this is time consuming). On the broker side–this type of arrangement is an inducement to sell banner ad services in order to get paid. The problem is that most banner ads do not really generate revenue. Click throughs do not equate to sales and banner positioning on more prominent pages that get more than 10,000 hits per day are becoming costly. If you client needs exposure and not revenue, I recommend contacting the site advertising reps on local newspaper sites within the client’s target market..many of these sites will provide banner or graphic advertising within sections of the online paper for a reasonable fee. This will give the client the necessary exposure within a credible vehicle and can also have side benefits of bundled services, such as site design, etc. I hope this helps.
