3 transmission rebuilds in approximately 20,000 kilometers

Question:

> Does Chrysler have a site for complaints. > I had a complete transmission rebuild Dec 1995, and again Dec 1996 and and now > another rebuild 6 weeks later Feb 1997. > Chrysler paid for the 1995 rebuild,  and 75% for the 1996 rebuild. This time I > refused to pay and I have not as yet got info whether I will pay for this one.

You might try logging your complaint on Brian Gluckman’s web page:         "http://www.glue.umd.edu/~kaustin/Chrysler.html"         You might also check "http://wwww.sis.org/docs/chrysler/html" for info on another widespread problem and how Chrysler has dealt with it.         You should definitely contact Transport Canada and file a written report so that you and others will benefit.  Without consumers complaints and some consumer watch agencies, little will be done about the issue. |In fourty years of driving I have never heard of 3 transmission rebuilds in a |period of 13 months with less than 20,000 kilometers(there abouts.) |I paid near $500 (25%) that I should not have paid. | |Let me know of your suggestions (FRIENDS).  The answer of course is very simple: Don’t buy Chrysler products.  It seems like the new LH cars have transmission problems too.  Ilya

Whoever you are paying to fix the tranny is ripping you off.   They aren’t fixing it, and ARE charging you a fortune.   >  The answer of course is very simple: Don’t buy Chrysler products.

No, don’t keep going back to the same incompetents. >  It seems like the new LH cars have transmission problems too.

No known transmission of the electronic kind is known bug and failure free.

Response:

Does Chrysler have a site for complaints. I had a complete transmission rebuild Dec 1995, and again Dec 1996 and and now another rebuild 6 weeks later Feb 1997. Chrysler paid for the 1995 rebuild,  and 75% for the 1996 rebuild. This time I refused to pay and I have not as yet got info whether I will pay for this one. The car had the same problem each time, clunking on take off and again on slowing up (I am allowing my Lawyer to advise me this time.) The dealership sent the car out for repairs Dec. 1996 and Feb. 1997. Car is a 1992 Spirit 4 speed auto.3.0 engine with (overdrive) I paid for the remainder of the 115,000 Kilometer warranty when my wife bought it. I paid 25% on the second rebuild because it was 3000 kilometers over the 115,000 warranty. But I had reported this problem since the 90,000 range "continually." I cannot use this car out of town, but one of my other cars a 1987 shadow with 189,000 kilometers is a darling. "If Chrysler CANADA is listening please help", I think you may want to check and see if everything is up and up.  Maybe you, as well as me, are being taken. In fourty years of driving I have never heard of 3 transmission rebuilds in a period of 13 months with less than 20,000 kilometers(there abouts.) I paid near $500 (25%) that I should not have paid. Let me know of your suggestions (FRIENDS). Thanking you Keith PS: I would really like to use this car in my consulting business, with some kind of confidence.
