What are the five best cars ($25K-$35K)??
Question:
> [in no particular order]: > BMW 325i (black) > BMW 325i (yellow) > BMW 325ic (yellow with black top) > BMW 325is (black) > BMW 325is (yellow)
An obviously unbiased and very open-minded opinion here. Good grief. BMWs are nice cars (the quality is a bit shakey though, especially the rattles in the dash at only 4000 miles!) but they are far from the "ultimate driving machine" and certainly not alone in the field. Daryl

I would like to see the Ford Thunderbird SuperCoupe in the top-five for this price range due to it’s excellent blend of styling, performance and luxury IMHO. ——- Chris K. McCormack Advanced Technology Division

My top 5 $25-$35K (U.S.): 1. Mazda RX-7 R2 – may be a bit more ($36-$37K) - bargain pocket rocket 2. Pontiac Firebird, Firebird Formula, Trans Am, Firebird Firehawk - best performance/dollar on the market 3. Ford Taurus SHO – very good performance sedan thanks to Yamaha-built engine 4. GMC Typhoon – unique, sport-utility meets sports-car - practical high-performance 5. Toyota MR2 Turbo – under $25K, but personal favorite
– not best value, not practical… but loads of FUN! Best of 5: Pontiac Firebird Firehawk 6-speed (if you can get one) – best value, Vette-killer (0-60 = 5.0 sec) — (. )(. ) Darin Ray Hamilton Faculty of Management, University of Calgary, Alberta, CANADA

I don’t have 5 but 2 of those five must include 1. BMW 325i(s) the ultimate sports sedan (or coupe) What magazine hasn’t wholeheartedly praised this car’s fun and character. 2. Nissan Maxima the best refinement and performance for a sports sedan behind the 35+ k M3.

Depends which rag you’re reading. The Firehawk does 0-60 and 1/4-mile in _about_ the same times as the Corvette LT-1… but at 1/2 the price. THAT’S the "killer". Chevy’s just shooting themselves in the foot. (especially since ZR-1s are all but out of production) — (. )(. ) Darin Ray Hamilton Faculty of Management, University of Calgary, Alberta, CANADA
