Question:
Does anyone know what is the best way to solicit testimonials from clients? I have no fear that they will respond, I just want to do it right. [ModTip: Write the testimonial and send for their approval. This will result in a reply and a quick one
If you wait for the client to send you one... you may end up waiting a long time. -John] Thanks, Louise ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ http://www.sspboatsite.com/marketing Marketing Resources for the Marine Industry http://www.sspboatsite.com Foggy’s Friends Hangout – send pictures of your boat pets. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

1. Customer surveys are excellent for improving your message, service, and general feedback. You could have a couple "rate our services from 1-5" questions along viewpoint "What you like best about our company?" type of questions. 2. If someone says something nice about your services immediately thank them and explain you are continually seeking customer testimonials for our marketing brochures and ads. Ask if you can quote them on it. 3. Simply call or send a letter and ask for it. "I’m in the process of putting together a list of testimonials…. would you take a few minutes to give me your opinion about…." Of course, all testimonials should be paired up with a release signature ("You have my permission to quote me in your…") and a whole truck load of thank yous. A good relationship with your clients is key. The more they like you, the better your chances are at getting a good testimonial. You don’t need to do anything fancy — just ask! Best, Al Hulaton

Call the client and ask them specific questions about the quality of your service. If you ask them, "Would you say that our service is among the best in the marine industry?" If they answer yes, to that and similar questions, write a testimonial from their perspective saying, "Louise’s service is among the best in the industry." Then when they approve what you’ve written from their responses they’ll be glad to let you use it. — McWebber http://McWebber.Com/ – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – >Does anyone know what is the best way to solicit testimonials from >clients? No need to write any lengthy letter — just jot your comments on the back of this letter, sign below and return it to me in the enclosed envelope. (The second copy is for your files.) I look forward to learning what you like about my service…but I also welcome any suggestions or criticisms, too. Many thanks, _____. John speaks wisdom as usual. Even if the clients don’t sign off on your testimonials word-for-word, it gives them a basis for shaping their own thoughts. To save them time, see if you can get blank copies of their letterhead and print the letter on that. If they approve it, it’s done! — Steve Holmes, Steve Holmes Productions (helping companies communicate through award-winning video) Iowa City, IA, USA http://www.shpvideo.com My address: sigerson "at" inav "dot" net (replace "" words with symbols) [ModSpeak: Steve, as usual, contributes further
