The best ways to get visitors to your site may depend in some ways on what your site is all about and exactly what kind of visitors you want to attract.  However, here are some general suggestions: Provide content of real interest and value.  Articles pertaining to the subject of your website, directories of suppliers or providers of goods, services, or information  important to your target market, and bulletin boards where your visitors can participate in discussions where they can trade tips, stories, talk about problems unique to the special area your website concerns, and so  on  – these kinds of valuable services give people real reasons to visit your site.   Include your URL in your regular marketing methods, such as classified ads in magazines, print ads, business cards, stationery, etc. Contribute articles about your specialty to online newsletters and e-zines. Send out news releases about the unique nature of your site and the valuable content it provides. Lee, the three points I covered with Nelson Nieves concerning "Need help on marketing an entertainment service" also apply to marketing your web site profitably. If you receive MBMM in digest form the reply longer have a copy of that message and I’ll email a copy to you.     [MOD: Actual newsgroup post is:     search on message-id or subject.] As far as accepting credit cards through the Internet goes, a company I have been referring people to for more than a year now is AIS Merchant Services.  I have not received a single complaint to date and they seem to be one of the few on the up and up. I am one of their many resellers so there’s always a chance I may be biased a little — but I don’t think so :) AIS allows online processing of your orders through your web page and deposits the money into your business checking account in 48-72 hours, not weeks or 30 days. I don’t know if you need them to process your orders for you or not but that is a nice feature. Whether you go with ais or some other firm you’ll want to be careful of the agency you contract with to handle your credit card processing. Many merchant service companies have fallen by the wayside and others have had their sites and assets seized by the federal government due to fraud. I have conducted a bit of online research on ais over the months and have not turned up a single complaint. If you want to know more about ais’s merchant services my reseller page is http://www.aismedia.com/home/e_commerce/merchant_accounts/merchant/id… 4687xmbmm Andr
