Response:

Speaking of New Jersey, I was born in Kearney, grew up in Union Beach, Class of Keyport  High in 1949. I went in the Air Force in 1950, ended up in California and I am still here. Your last name sounds like one of those great Italian names I grew up with. Thank you for the info and it is great to hear from Jersey. Best Regards, Don

You should be okay with those dates.  Colleges traditionally have earlier spring breaks (anywhere from end of February to mid to end of March).  The other schools (elementary and high school), typically break around Easter.  Since Easter is early next year, I think mid April to end of April will be safe.  Much later than that, and some of the schools will be breaking for summer vacation! Diane, that’s not necessarily true for all the New Jersey schools. Here in south Jersey, our schools have a winter break for one week in mid-February, and then they are off from Good Friday through Easter week and return to school on April 4.  They are not off for Passover at all. Response:

Spring break usually lasts a week at a given school. but depending on the school and area of the country this can range from the first week of March to mid April. I think most schools have either the 3rd week of march, 4th week of March or the first week of April, so it will likely be heaviest during these weeks. Consider a longer cruise.  We took the Summit 10 day cruise last year at spring break time and saw far fewer kids than on prior 7 day cruises, but still a good number of kids.  Maybe there would be fewer yet on a 14 day cruise.  But it will be hard to escape families and kids any time close to spring break periods of March & April. – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> Last March, we did two weeks on the Diamond Princess to the Mexican > Riviera. > We sailed  March 13 through March 26. My wife sells vacation travel for an airline, and because of the varied schedules of schools across the country, spring break is on their sales calendars as being from March 1st through April 30th. Hasn’t kicking out that one week "Easter Vacation" and replacing it with a floating "Spring Break" been a huge boost to the vacation and travel industries!  ;-) Enjoy the kids!! — Ray Contreras Webmonkey for: http://www.ossystems.com http://members.aol.com/gaspast http://www.rayzplace.com —–= Posted via Newsfeeds.Com, Uncensored Usenet News =—– http://www.newsfeeds.com – The #1 Newsgroup Service in the World! —–==  Over 100,000 Newsgroups – 19 Different Servers! =—–

Thank you for the info. As it turned out, I am an early riser and the kids are not,  so I didn’t see them much except that the pools were jammed from noon on.  The worst thing was that they were, of course, attracted to the "free" hot dogs and hamburgers. Princess serves food on platters, so early in the morning, there were platters of half eaten food all over the ship, even in front  of my door. There are some lounges with beautiful furniture and there were platters stacked there too. Thanks again, Don
