Save $$$ on internal Australia airfares & scandal (NOT an ad)
Question:
Hi The airlines in Australia, Qantas and Ansett are really expensive doe to expensive overheads caused by the Transport Workers Union (membership of the union is compulsory for employment – just like in the old Russia). A new airline called Pacific Trans Air is starting up on the 15th February and they are offering $AUD99 one-way between Melbourne and Sydney or between Sydney and Brisbane, twice daily, no catering, no frills. No Sauturday nights away, no conditions. Just a straight one-class fare for business people who want to make money, not spend it on supporting airlines overheads and inefficiency. Check it out – they are MUCH cheaper. Reservations are (02) 669.3700 or 132.799. I do not work for them or anything – I just get pissed off at the big airlines that are gouging. Let’s help establish some competition… **** PROTEST HERE **** Is anyone else pissed off at the requirement of Qantas and Ansett that a 14 or 21 day advance purchase ticket requires 14 or 21 days notice to change any of the dates ? Well, if so, complain to the following corporate morons who are responsible. If enough people bitch maybe reality will strike them. Paul Edwards, Qantas Marketing Dept. voice 02.691.4154, fax 02.6913705 Geoffrey Court, Marketing Manager, Ansett Airlines, fax (039) 6232912 (sorry, lost the phone number – ring the switchboard). Naturally they have no email, as you would expect from a constipated bureaucracy. This is particularly so with Ansett who have their sales drones try to flog Rupert Murdoch’s Foxtel cable TV. Clearly thay have no cottoned onto the fact that interactive/cable TV is window dressing on a dying dinosaur smoke-stack communication medium. No internet access in all that bandwidth. Just pure crud like "Dracula Rapes the Virgin Mary Part III". By the way, their confidential sales figures shown that only about 20% of their projected cable TV sales by their over-paid brainless CONsultants has occurred. Then again Tel$tra (ie the Australian Taxpayer) is footing the bill, not Murdoch, so why should he care ?

There will be a problem with this if it is successful. Now that the Australian manufacturing industries have largely disappeared, and with them, their canteens, once the airlines trim back their frills, where will you go to get truly appalling food.
