Norwegian Cruise Lines – Norwegian Sky – Panama Canal
Question:
Never attend their Port and Cruise Consultant’s Seminar. It’s totally business recommending shops. The way they recommend shops make them look like a used car salesman. I felt that while cruising to Bahamas through their Norwegian Sea. It was an utter waste of time attending that seminar.
Response:
The NCL Sky was my first cruise in Feb, 2001. I enjoyed this cruise so much. The ship was beautiful. I had not considered a cruise before because I did not want to have to eat dinner at a certain time, dress up every single night, and dine with people that I did not like or care for. We are even considering Feb 2002 for the new Sun, that is just how much we enjoyed the cruise. We had a great location for our cabin, just one deck below the pool area. We did not go to one of the main dining rooms but one night. We ate at the buffet close to the pool area, they had a good variety to choose from. I did not feel out of place in a nice pair of pants and blouse. You could really dress any way you wanted to, just use good judgement. The men just wore pants and a nice shirt, I did see some tux, and just a suit and tie will do fine for the main dining areas. They do have a few dining choices that have a cover of 10.00 per person and I do regret that we did not do this. It was nice to just going to dinner when it fit your schedule not assigned dining times and dining seats. The pool area was very nice, on the days at sea they put cushions on the chairs, sprayed you with water, and brought around fresh fruit on a skewer in the pool area. I really enjoyed my first cruise and I sure am ready to go on another one, can’t wait till next Feb. The crew was very nice and helpful. They had a great program for kids, in fact, one of the girls in the kids area was from North Carolina and attended the teacher’s college in our state, so we all felt comfortable leaving the children in our group there for kid activities. They had a great time, watching movies and being cared for. She did not attend the kids activities on the Big Red Boat, but she had so much fun on the NCL Sky. I hope you enjoy your first cruise, if you have any question, I’ll be glad to answer any questions. Robin
