Perhaps this is a long shot but you might consider contacting ARAMCO WORLD, magazine that is produced for/by ARAMCO (originally standing for the Arabian American Oil Company) whose headquarters are in Dhahran. The magazine is quite glossy with lots of pictures and stories, but they might have back issues that provide helpful information about the people, culture, and business practices. If you make contact with them directly, they could get you in touch with the right associations/groups as well. My library has this mag on shelf. Perhaps yours does too.
