Hi Jessica, I’m going to tell you the 5 most powerful things you can do to market your business. 1. Write articles about your topic and get them placed in newsletters and e-zines (electronic magazines) (about your topic) on the internet. To find newsletters in your field, search terms like decorative newsletters, craft e-zines, arts and craft newsletter directories. etc. Subscribe to the newsletters, then submit your article for consideration to the publisher. Write your article in e-mail and send it to the publisher. (You may want to query the publisher first, asking for guidelines). I’ll give you search engines to use at the end of this e-mail. 2. Get your website linked to other sites. Search the terms decorative crafts directories, arts and crafts directories. and other simliar terms. When you find websites that are directories, look for a link that says add listing, add URL or some other term like expose your site! Click the link and follow directions. If you can’t find their "add URL" link, just e-mail them requesting link/listing information. Some of them may cost a little money. Go for the free ones first! 3. Post the same articles to discussion groups, (not newsgroups, they are normally just packed with ads, no prospective customer there). Just look for discussion groups on your topic. 4. Publish your own newsletter. Get it listed in newsletter directories. Search newsletter directories and put it in your sig line. (Signature line). 5. Promote your website offline. Run lead generation ads in your targeted markets. Offer free information first, to get them interested. Then follow up with a sales letter or phone call. Don’t try to sell product in your lead generation ad. Just offer free information. The ad should drive them to your website or a toll free phone number. You can also put your lead generation ad on a post card and mail it to your targeted market. If you are really interested in putting together a good lead generation ad, send your ad to me, and I’ll clean it up and polish it for you. No charge. Jessica, You can do both — list a job or review people/companies — using Consultink.com. They have a good name in the business and are not expensive, although I’m not really familiar with other service’s pricing and there may be something cheaper out there. I have used them, once, from the client end, and was pleased with the number and quality of consultant listings. I wish you luck. -Matt Fischer- – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -Jessica Corkman wrote… > We need some help. I got a consultant for only US$20+! HAHA! It would be suitable for you too! It’s a book called "Make Your Site Sell!" (MYSS!). You wouldn’t believe how amazing this book is! It showed me how to: 1) develop great products and position it for web sales 2) build a site that REALLY sells! 3) attract targeted traffic to my site And the most important thing is… IT WORKS! No wonder it’s "the best selling book on the internet!"… Most I-Marketing books I read doesn’t touch anything on writing powerful sales copy, but MYSS! does. I think that’s the most important reason that makes a visitor stays. There’s an Electronic Version (PDF Format) and a Printed Version of "Make Your Site Sell!" (MYSS!). Talk about flexibility… Download the book extracts to see the good stuff! The URL is http://www.sitesell.com/ff.html , goto "Free Download" for the free MYSS! trial! My only regret is I didn’t order it using the UPS shipping or bought the electronic version! I could have gotten MYSS! earlier! Before you buy.

There are many Web sites that have resumes you can view and professionals for hire. A couple to try are Cnet.com and FreeAgent.com. You can search for other Web sites and boards that list consultants. I’d look for a professional in my local area first and I’d try to find someone I can talk to face to face. You might consider brushing up on the topic first and read a book or two. There are some good books available on Internet Marketing. We need some help. We are an eCommerce site selling decorative crafts and handmade-in-America items for the home. We are doing decent business based on word of mouth and some promotional affiliations locally here in the Columbus area. But at this point we need assistance from the outside to help bring our products to a larger audience. We need input on specific kinds of marketing we can do and what will be most cost-effective, but we also need help with basic strategy. For example I’m convinced the items we have for sale will appeal less to buyers on the coasts, but on the other hand those audience are much larger as far as online. How much effort should we target where? First off, if anyone in this group is an experienced marketing consultant who would be interested in working on this project with us, or if you know anyone who might, please email me. Second, where should I be looking for the consultant we need? Ideally I would like to be able to peruse consultants’ resumes, but also put up a description of what we need so consultants can contact us if they have the right skills and knowledge. Thanks for your input, and have a great day. Jessica Corkman furby AT fnmail DOT com (Please not the anti-SPAM devices)
