Question:
Every line I’ve ever bought has had a pamphlet with suggested knots… nearly every reel I’ve bought has had a pamphlet showing a diagram of parts and where to get them and where they go..Also most have had some instructions on how to cast…What do people do with these??? Also the pros advise in bass masters or wherever is not always the thing for the person just fishing for fun..They use heavy or medium heavy action rods and it takes 5/8 OZ or more to load the rod and if you can’t load the rod your casting with your arm instead of your rod and this can get old real quick..I doubt if anyone will understand that..maybe a flycaster will..anyway,there it is… Dick said all that and for him that’s a lot..

I just bought some line and the only thing in the package besides the line was showing other products they are selling with the product line.

Hi Peter, There are NO stupid questions here! We all try to help one another in whatever ways we can. However, before suggesting treatments, have you seen a qualified physician? Preferably a Dermatologist (skin specialist) so that you know for certain that you have psoriasis and then so that he or she can help you find the right treatment for your case. There are many approaches to treatment for ps. It is quite apparent that some treatments work for some people and not for others, some treatments work for awhile for some people and then stop working, and some people find that certain foods seem to aggravate their condition, while some of us have never seen any correlation between diet and ps. I hope this at least proves that no question is stupid. Please let us know if you have been diagnosed and what you have tried so far so that we can help suggest other options for you to learn about! Hi, Mirrow… and welcome to the group! Sounds like Ava gave you great information in her post. You might also want to check out the (United States) National Psoriasis Foundation website for more details on current treatments for psoriasis: http://www.psoriasis.org/ By the way, there are a few folks around here from Italy who will probably show up eventually to say hello. For some reason, they seem to get the posts very late. Guess even the posts arrive late in your country! Dr. Oscar is sure to say hello when he gets a chance. He is a veterinarian in Italy who also has psoriasis. Now keep on posting! Best regards,

Judy, relax… Stress is bad for your P! I was simply pointing out that ANY html is NOT appropriate for use in this forum. Your messages should be composed of strictly ASCII text. I see you eliminated the HTML graphics on this last post which is precisely what I was pointing out that you should do. What’s the big deal, it really won’t interfear with your fame and fortune! The actual site is *loaded* with commercial promos and banners. Coincidentally, I was just about to post a message asking if promoting this site was *really* permitted under the no-advertising FAQ when the site owner posted her query. The posting of "look at my site" promos (for anything other than a personal wedding site) also invites scrutiny that might not have occurred if free offers had been mentioned in response to other posters’ specific requests. Various of us have personal sites that collect useful wedding information and have no commercial benefit to us — we *still* wait for specific questions before referring people to our site. The only person in this category who posts "look what’s new" updates removed *all* commercial links from her site. Wende

Cheri: I think part of the problem is that although you state that yours isn’t a commercial site, it DOES indeed promote plenty of commercial businesses, and, considering the number of banner ads that appear on the page, it certainly looks like a VERY commercial page. The alt.wedding FAQ does not discriminate between vendors and non-vendors when it comes to the posting of commercial messages. You do not have to be a vendor to post inappropriate messages. I quote the FAQ: <><><><><><><><><><> 1.3 Commercial Advertising on alt.wedding Alt.wedding is a discussion group. As such, advertising is not permitted. This prohibition includes individuals selling personal items and posts whose sole purpose is to announce web pages which contain primarily commercial or business material, including regional and national wedding industry vendor directories. A note to vendors: Please refrain from sending a commercial advertisement via email to posters unless a specific request has been made for services in your area. It is acceptable and welcomed for a wedding professional to answer a general question and have their signature line contain up to 4 lines of business information. <><><><><><><><><><><> Please note the 3rd sentence. I have visited your site and I find that it may indeed be quite helpful to many folks here. I would even go so far as to recommend it. However, a search of DejaNews also shows that you have been hawking your web site on no fewer that 41 different Usenet groups. Indeed, of your 12 posts to a.w and s.c.w., 7 promote your site, one asks why you received a nasty response to your posts, one asks for wedding related clipart for web pages, one asks Nathan what his OT football related post is all about, one promotes a portion of your page devoted to designing [free] wedding websites, and ONE post is an appropriate, on-topic post in response to a question posed by another participant. Make no mistake, there is no reason for anyone to send a NASTY e-mail warning of an inappropriate post, at least the first time. I send polite warnings to folks who post inappropriately all of the time. (I generally get BACK a rather nasty message telling me to do something that in anatomically impossible…or something along those lines). The point is that your post is appropriate to alt.wedding.marketplace, (where you have only posted once), and inappropriate for a.w and s.c.w, (where you have posted 7 times). We would of course welcome your participation in wedding related discussion at any time, and you are of permitted to place the URL to your web site (and any other information you wish) in your four line .sig file for any of those posts.
